SEO for Authority Site - Please Review

I am working on an authority site. I reviewed several services here on BHW and outside as well and picked the best parts in my view and based on what I am reading on SEO.

If you are an expert, can you review this and provide your feedback? I will truly appreciate it.

Do you think I have it covered?
Any link types I should not be going after as they are waste of time?

- High PR (Will target PR 4+, but at least PR 3+)
- These should take some time to get approved.
- So natural drip feed

20 Manual comments:
- I will personally make 20 comments using the name of the profile I specifically created for this site.
- Will use overall high DA sites, not concerned about follow / nofollow.
- Drip feed

10 Manual high-quality Web 2.0 creation:
-Non Keyword based url. Instead of keyword.wordpress.com I will get kellyonmoney.wordpress.com type names but which can still be niche relevant.
- Start with a 300+ word unique+original article unrelated to my site. Let it sit for a week.
- Add one article with 2-4 links. 1 to my site and 1-4 to other authoritative, noncompeting sites. Let it sit for a week.
- Add one more article link to one of my inner pages.

I will modify this based on the guide PHPBUILT is going to publish. But this seems to be the best practice as of now.

5 Expired domain
- Niche relevant
- DA > 20
- Built in a similar way to web 2.0s except will only link to my site. To capture maximum link juice.

10 Manual document submission
- Mix of links to root and inner pages. Re-purpose articles on web 2.0s
- Related anchor text

5 Manual article directory submission to top five sites
- Likes of Ezine, Goarticles,
- URL anchor text

10 Posts on PBN (purchased)
- Exact Match Anchor

1 Press Release
- Well written
- Paid distribution using fiverr or a service from BST

- Built in a non-spammy way.

PS: I already own most of the tools I have mentioned about but I do not have lists, proxies or know how of using them.

edit: I see you are just learning some of the tools, I suggest you make sure you are doing it right cause one messy blast can ruin your rather decent plan. Imagine having a lot of anchor texts like this %anchor_text% or something to that effect.

woah, that's pretty detailed, I can't find any flaws with it.

A true authority site doesn't need to build links like that. They attract natural links simply by the way the site is structured. I think you should start by learning what an authority site actually is.

1. Throw out that list of numbers and properties.

2. Focus on creating a site full of content that people will actually want to interact with.

3. Let it build naturally and see where it stands after a bit

4. Don't be so quick to just fire links

Yes letting natural links come is technically the best way to do it since it's really hard to get penalized with natural links. But building backlinks is a viable option to speed up the ranking process tremendously. So if I was you, I would follow that plan but heres some tips on how I would do it.

1. Don't start building all those links on a brand new domain. I would let it age a couple weeks and then slowly start building all those links.
2. Make sure you don't overdo exact keyword anchor text. If you follow that plan you should be solid
3. Use those weaker links (blog comments, maybe some web 2.0's, ect) to diversify anchor text, and use the more powerful links (expired domains, PBN links) to focus on your keywords.

Just focus on quality over quantity...

Will mostly be using tools on Tier 2 and Tier 3. At least till get a hang of it.

Catch 22 problem. I need some sort of promotion for people to find the site. The are is not where a lot of people are discussing things.

1. The plan is to create a diversified anchor text profile.
2. I have content. Pages are not ranking
3. Not an area where people would naturally link to it.
4. 9 months old domain.

Social signals, high quality web 2.0s and PBN that is? Imo that should do the trick to get you up in the rankings in the beginning, and once you ranked the authority does the job by itself.

Well I guess you should stop calling your plan an authority site. That's why they call us the 2%, the rest of you just don't get it.

I recently analyzed few 1K+/months domain and they all had over 35% + of the URL Match.

This is BS. If you start from scratch, then you need to expose and promote your site. And it doesn't matter if you do it via social interactions or by building links, thus getting traffic from SE.

Everything you think you know is BS. It's sad that you've been misled but what's important is that you start fresh and learn the difference.

Guys quit fighting. I am aiming for a "low risk" link building method. I do realize that low-risk does not mean no-risk and people & sites who are able to get it done naturally should go that way.

The site I am building is in my view the best in the domain, so if I get exposure, I may attract natural links. Just want to aide the process.

Plus there are some niche people just don't link to that often: For example, industry / news site for shipping container providers companies. No blogs / communities (that I know of) focused on that.

I would increase your brand anchors to 40%, naked urls to 30%, generic to 20% and the rest 10% you can use for keywords. Penguin is much more sensitive now to keywords. You can still rank with just naked urls/brand urls for your keywords, just make sure you on-site is tight. I've done this with ONLY automated software and the occasional high PR post and remained safe while others got slapped.

maheshsingh, good to see you're going well with your plans. I am doing a very similar link building strategy, although I know I am not building a authority site. I know you will probably be replicating this (or something similar) for more than one website, and your enemy will be TIME! And paying for it is also not viable.

I did the same as you; trawl the BST's for cool services I can replicate. The strategy is good IMO (regardless of what people say about authority sites), try to cut out the things that take lots of time, and try to cut out things that may cost loads of money.

with a slightly slimmed down version of that strategy I am already on page 2 for a 22k searches keyword and I barely started on tier 2.
