How to do SEO for already ranking website getting about 5000-8000 pageviews per day ?

You can simply create high authority backlinks or backlinks from any google news approved site at least one link a week, will make your chance of ranking stability by 100X
 
Analyze your website and check how many keywords are ranking in top 20 and try to boost them. for boost you can try diverse links, Web 2.0's, guest posts, Niche edits etc
 
Analyze where your current traffic is coming from: organic traffic, social traffic, referrals, etc, and scale the source up. The marketing method for each source differs from another.
 
First, do an SEO Audit for the website. And then do all website pages on-page SEO. Then go for diverse links, web2.0, edu, etc. or if you want a higher boost then go for high authority guest posts.
