Hi

I have a got a new project which is a website about properties but it doesn't own any content. when you search about properties in a specific city, it's provide the available properties and some info about each property, when you click at any property it takes you to the source website. As well the info you see for every property is taken from the source website.

The competition in the targeted keywords is not that high. Do you think it would be a problem as there are no unique content at all ?

Would like to hear from some one experienced this situation before.

So is your website more like a web directory, an RSS feed, or what used to be Google Places? If it's like an RSS feed, I wouldn't expect a web crawler to find it. If it's like Google Places or a web directory, there's a chance it could be found by web crawlers, although I'm not too sure. If I'm correct, most websites like that rely on word-of-mouth rather than search engines. Regardless, you should still try to rank for your keyword(s) just to be sure.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or a web page in a search engine's "natural" or un-paid ("organic") search results. In general, the earlier (or higher ranked on the search results page), and more frequently a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine's users. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, video search, academic search,[SUP][1][/SUP] news search and industry-specific vertical search engines.

As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work, what people search for, the actual search terms or keywords typed into search engines and which search engines are preferred by their targeted audience. Optimizing a website may involve editing its content, HTML and associated coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines. Promoting a site to increase the number of backlinks, or inbound links, is another SEO tactic.

Most of the classifieds are now integrated using XML Feed to retrieve the content from the source and give back a link to the source. E.g, OLX, OODLE, Trovit, etc.. If your question is towards a site similar to this. Then don't worry do the backlink job the right way you can achieve better ranking.
