SEO for 2 cities, need some advices please

Hi there,

I'm opening a little business with a friend offering website creation in my area. Mainly, we are targeting 2 cities. The one I'm living, and another one 30km further.
As I want to keep the site good looking and professional, my menu is something like that with theses pages "Home / Website creation / Social Networks / Portfolio / .. / Contact Us".
Well, one page for each of our services. You get the point. I tried to do some internal SEO for "website creation + city 1", but I can't do it too much as it will just look stupid in the eyes of future customers.
I will soon start creating backlinks for the website, I'm actualy writing several articles around the niche for my Tier 1.

My question is, as I would like to get some good rankings for let's say "website creation city 1" and "website creation city 2" what could help me without putting too much content that my customers don't care in my website ? I don't want to add pages on menu for "website creation city 2" because it just won't look pro in my opinion. I think I could work with my anchors text with "website creation city 2" for example ? Any suggestion will be well appreciated.

i am not sure i can help you but i did want to tell you: Try to optimize everything not only for google but also for Bing. Bing is a better "local search engine" then google and people usually use it more for finding local stuff. Try to rank high for the keywords you want on Bing

I hope I understood your question correctly. Your problem is that you don't know how to optimize one site for two different "cities". If I were you, I would simply mention both cities on the page (maybe something like: Most of our clients come from City 1 and City 2) and then build links with different anchor texts (city 1 and city 2) to that page. I would also build anchor texts like website creating city 1 city 2. This way, Google will know that your site is relevant for both cities and you should be able to rank for that keywords.
