You shouldn't build links from irrelevant sites, its not good practice, try to build links in your niche

Parasites won't rank anymore I tried this a few years ago, best to spend that time and effort on a real money site

If you are talking about SEO your question doesn't make much sense but you can use Ahrefs to find good keywords

1 - If they are relevant to your niche and have good backlinks then although not recommended its doable
2 - Use a tool like Panguin to see if your website traffic decreased after a Google update.

Really?

Then why are my parasites like Googe sites for instance ranking all the time for low to midlevel keywords without a lot of work at all?

And why is it that when I look at supplement and pill offers in the SERPS I see all kinds of parasites ranking like there is no tomorrow?

Please, explain that to me!

IMHO, Just because you can't rank them doesn't mean they won't rank, it just means you're bad at SEO and you don't know what tf you're talking about!

Just putting my one cent here (he, i am Dutch after all and two cents is just too steep for this AMA)

Its not really possible to know how much potential traffic you will get, the closest you can get to it is to take the search volume of your keyword and multiply by 0.4 if you are in number 1 position however you are likely to rank for more than 1 keyword

My first real website yes, I built an ecommerce website. Prior to this I have built numerous websites but nothing like what I am working on at the moment, this is a long term project

There are exceptions to everything, like that I have seen hacked sites ranking for competitive keywords. If your ranking for mid level keywords then probably Google sees you as an authority, you might have good content and backlinks to your URL
 
I had previously ranked for several keywords with ease, having been among the first to write on the topic. But I had completely stopped updating my site for almost 2 years, and eventually, my posts sank to the bottom of the SERPs. I've written some new posts on the very same topics/keywords, but I am no longer able to rank again. Any suggestions?

Have you built links to your website? There may now be authorative websites in your niche
 
each page in my site (similar to a forum, coded with php personally) has a lot of crap text like "report, share, date, like, etc, etc" and imagine 20 of each with a page with 20 comments. I feel that these things are diluting the quality of the content on the page. is that so? if that, is there a way to deemphasize these, so that the page content would look more relevant to the keyword to the googlebot ? p.s. erasing them can not be an option, as they are integral to the user experience.

I was wondering too myself about that answer, obviously that person is a noob. It has gotten harder to rank parasite but there are lots of parasites ranking still depending on the niche and the keyword competition.

No good content just translated shit and a view PBN links pointing to it and again NO this is not the exception, I have many parasites ranking (no not hacked sites, parasites like good old google site and bloggerblogs) I am telling you that you are wrong sir!
 
Can I use the same structure of writing content as my main site on my other site in the same niche?
