That can be quite an open ended project and can take a long time and a lot of money. It obviously depends on the market you are in, the size of your site and the keywords you want to rank for. Can you elaborate at all?

I agree with links, With a poker site, it will take quite some time to get to the top, most poker sites pay alot of money for the top spots. Getting keywords isnt hard to do really, its just trying to beat out the top dogs.

But if you are persistent and get some good quality backlinks along with good content you should do ok, the key is to find keywords that are being searched for but not many are going after.

Also, don't underestimate the value of on-site factors. I've got several sites to front page G00gle/Yah00/M*SN using only WH methods only and with very very few decent backlinks.

A poker (casino) site is going to take constant attention and someone on staff to work on that. Its not going to be a one shot $5000 project. 888.com spends 10's of thousands of dollars a month on IM, search, and email. Gambling sites need affiliates and ad spots.

I would also say, try the methods used here on BHW, you can get alot of traffic and conversions trying the torrent method. I cant find the thread right now, but will keep looking.

But as far as SEO, it will take constant work as BuzzKill said. Its a very BIG market and needs attention to get to the top. It's possible but like all things, it needs work to keep improving and moving up.

My site is a rakeback site dealing with Poker and is doing well, i even had my site ranked 2nd on google for certain keyworkds, But i have not had time to keep this up and we are in the middle of launching a new look and layout so would be best to have the SEO work started ASAP before the new look is published.
