SEO domains... which one is better?

Hi blackhatters!

I'm about to chase a keyword, but I'm a newbie, so please help me

I have been offered 2 domains for the keyword, but I'm not sure which one is better and why. Note that the competition is hard, so I'm gonna need to extract every + from everything!

Both domains arecom

The first domain is the type
XYZPLAN 5 years old
(XYZ is the keyword)
and the other one is
XYZs (where S is for plural form) 6 years old
(XYZ is the keyword)

XYZs have some exact monthly searches (about 190, which is nothing)
XYZPLAN doesn't have any exact monthly searches.


I would like to know is there any way I can find out if any of those domains have been banned/penalized in the past?

I would go with the one that has the exact searches but really if neither one is above 190 then it wouldn't really matter. One has a good of a chance as another. As far as the past for the domain/site check the waybackmachine to find out what type of content was on it and google it.

Do any of them have any past SEO work on them and still live backlinks?

Go for XYZs.

i'd go for xyzs

Both sellers haven't said anything about backlinks, so I guess there aren't any.
If the XYZ example is hard, just imagine the keyword is "refferal" (it's not!)
one of the domains is:

refferalS
and the other:
refferalPlan

The exact match is low - about 190 exact searches.

P.S.
The XYZs domain have some activity from 2004 to 2009 (according to waybackmachine, it used to be a site, but then suddenly there are not any records after March 2009 on it (screenshots, etc.)) (The site definately looks good for 2006 kind of site, but it just looks good, almost not any content inside....
The XYZPlan domain used to be a shitty site with 3-4 pages (Obviously made on basic html or something like that, so I assume theres no point this site have been banned or anything (who knows....))

Just to remind you I made this research with waybackmachine because I wanted to know if this site have been banned/penelized by google in the past. Any other ways to check that?

Definitely XYZs - unless the word "plan" is highly relevant to your keywords?

As in XYZ = architect ?

The word `Plan` is relevant, but not a really relevant one, however, there aren't any exact searches of the "XYZPlan"

But ye, we can say that its a little bit relevant.

I would go with xyzs too, but only if it makes sense with xyzsplan. If the search amount is that low then your comp is probably low, so some on page SEO and backlinks to xyz and xyzs would probably rank you for both.

The searches are low, about 27k, but the competition is hard.

What scares me from XYZs is that they used to have a nice website, then suddenly it dissapeared... probably a ban/panelty from google?

On the other hand XYZs have some low amount of exact searches...

Unfortunately XYZs is not passing any of those steps, so obviously banned...

I guess those resources are legit?
