I'm wondering what would deliver the best SEO results. A domain name with hyphens or a EMD (exact match domain) with . info?

As i'm targetting domain names which are all occupied, going for a more common extension like c. o m with hyphens in between the words or an EMD with . info , what would be the best for SEO ranking?

If anything, I'd suggest going for either one of the following:

PrefixExactMatchDomain.com
ExactMatchDomainsuffix.com

In my opinion, go for the hyphenated .com

I think for an EMD, you want to be looking at .com, .net or .org

You will get some people telling you that 'It doesn't matter, I have seen .info's ranking at the top', but that is a rarity. I bet 95% of search queries don't have .infos in the top 10 .. If it's worked for them, then much respect, but I would go with the hyphen :)

How about .us ? I found a EMD one with that extension that's got 4,400 monthly searches in the US alone, would it be possible to get it on page 1 ?

is a .us domain good for people searching things while in the US? I'm talking about EMD here

Huge debate in the SEO world over .info domains. IMHO Google doesn't like them (too many spammers using them). I would go with the hyphens or try a .net or .org. I have had some success with .co also.

I'd stay with a com/net/org only. That's just my preference though. Maybe it's me but I don't see too many .info in serps.

I avoid infos because they usually just look spammy (they could work with informational keywords, but i never go after those anyway..)..

Go either with the hyphenated .com (not more then 2 hyphens!) or the emd .us. I have had much success with rankings .us names.

Buy both and promote both, see which ranks higher, then link from the lower to the higher (mini blog network) :) Easy as that!

I stay away from .infos. There are just too many good exact match domains on godaddy auctions to choose from.

For the EMD the exactdomain.info will give you some serious result.
If you manage to make this workable then it must work properly as it was to be.
So in my suggestion you should go with this option.
