SEO - does this work

I was looking at my competitor backlinks and i find out he only has backlinks like this
Just rubish spuned articles with backlinks to his money site.
Content is unique with 1k words but its just nonsense.
He is ranked first so i think it works,

What is your opinion on web 2.0s like this ?

You can hide everything those days so it doesn't really matters.
But anyways sometimes you work hard to rank sites using PBN for example and after few months even though your PBN got de-indexed or something, you still rank.
Sites are getting stronger while they are on top because some different Offpage and mostly Onpage factors, so sometimes they able to stay there even after losing the links.

This is true, I've noticed this a lot lately.

I ranked a site with PBN links, then took them away. A month later the site still holds its rankings. Probably wont last, but interesting still.

It is really sad that this rubbish can rank that high. Just does not really seem fair but I guess that SEO is not always fair.

Dude, go and spent $100 a month on Moz and go and lick rands ass over there, I think you will both be very happy living in a fairtale internet where the good guys always win.

Or you could educate yourself a bit more by understanding more about ranking and backlinking, learn about why linkwheels and private blog networks, about link pyramids and what you can pair up on fiverr. Get a tool like moneyrobot or backlinkbeast or both. Most of these tools stem from the mother of SEO Tools SENUKE. The key is that in learning how to use these tools help you learn much faster than trial and error. For suckers like you to believe this is how he ranks his site. Probably the PBN links are hidden and you can't find it.

It is best to stay with content that is read-able vs. rubbish content. Why not use article spinner that allows you to substitute good english in your content? This way the content will have value and you will be less likely to be penalized later.
