SEO discussion

I see a lot of make money threads on how to use craigslist, twitter, etc. to make money.
But no one talks about making money with SEO, which I don't get.

There are a ton of ways to make money online. There are so many ways its beginning to confuse me.

I've decided to do SEO to get traffic to cpa offers.

I have a few questions.
How much do you make from SEO
What do you make money from, cpa, clickbank, ect.
What kind of keywords do you target, ones that have a lot of results, how many? Ones that have a lot of searches, how many?

Can we please start some conversation as I feel like I am alone.

Does anyone else do seo just to get traffic to cpa offers?

Everyone is doing craigslist, I don't want to do that.

Edit: if you are doing this for getting traffic to clickbank/cpa stuff. Then what kind of site do you use to rank with?
your own site, an article, profile pages from other sites, ect.

Also something funny. If you search for viagra. A lot of people are using profile pages or some inner pages of other websites. It's hillarious.
Market Samurai tells me that result number 10 has VERY few backlinks and I don't get how it ranks up there.
