I saw many people say that SEO on Google is already dead.I felt that as well.I had no idea how to do seo now.If I start to build backlinks,my rankings down,the domain possibly being penalized.Even after I publish more articles,I can see a siginifcant traffic down.Can you guys tell me how to do seo now?

there are many case study here in BHW. why dont you try what they are doing. a very competitive keyword will of course require more work and budget.
 
SEO is not dead. Since the panda change, people are just adapting to the new system. If you don't do that much blackhat, you shouldn't have seen that much difference (or at least I didn't). Just think quality content, links, and proper SEO on websites like usual.
 
I believe that backlinks still count in google's eye. They have hidden the backlinks from us in hopes that it will deter us and throw us off. There are a lot of other factors at play now though. SEO is far from dead. If there is a system then there is a system to manipulate said system.

On Page SEO
Build local google + for your products and services if they are local.
Build great content
linkwheels still work
Diversify what you use just as always and don't just do backlinks
and so on....

One way backlinks. No footprint, drip fed.

Social Bookmark + BMR posts all day.

Those people are failures.

How do you think G is ranking sites for billions of search terms today? Casting chicken bones? It is still a bounded algorithm with a fixed number of factors that can be derived through multivariate analysis.

SEO aint dead. only the tactics you are using are dead... Try to learn the new things :P

Very well said, with the change of time you need to change your strategy to survive in this IM world. Its working pretty fine for those who are not pin point to one single strategy.
 
it is a little dead, it depends how you look at it. it doesnt change so much as it used to.
 
SEO definitely is not dead! I am doing better than before. The major advantage of Panda updates is that all the garbage sites who were above me have all been removed. My sites are info sites with in sidebar affiliate offers. Quality!

Also I am also using senuke, xrumer, etc. But I use it in a certain way that benefits me: i.e. not blasting at my money site
 
Definetly not dead, it just changed and became harder. Better for me!
 
Maybe black hat spamming/scraping techniques are dying, but my white-hat sites are currently flourishing better than ever.

SEO is not dead, it can't be dead. I am optimizing my website for search results and I am pretty happy with the results.

Every year optimization techniques are coming in and dying out, and those who are still sticking to old school techniques are saying about the death of the SEO.
