SEO Competition Help

Hi guys,

I've got my page to position 4, which is great, however I cant quite understand why I am not number 1,

I have been using private blog networks and some usual web 2.0's to make it look more natural etc. Most of my links are DA 20+ PA 30+ PR 3-5, around 500 of these.

My Page is fully optimized for the keyword, H1,H2, mentioned a few times, quality video, images, 1000 words. Moz rank 4.2 age 0.1.

My competition is DA 65 PA 28, no H2 tag, keyword mentioned twice, 200 words of text, 1 image. moz rank 3.89, 40 links. age 17 yrs PR 4. Its a great site for a certain leisure niche, however its PA is only 28, its not optimized at all really on page, its rubbish compared to mine.

So why aren't I at the top? Can I beat them, if I keep building quality links?

I've already got a few decent affiliate sales, but I want to scale it up.

Analyse the competition in pos 1 -3 and see how they're ranking. Maybe it's as simple as domain age or trust rank.

How long have you been trying to outrank them? It might just be that you need to allow more time for it. Or, they might have more powerful links which are not visible on backlinks tools?

Yeah agree with this. I ranked a very high competition site in the #3 spot - right below the brand name of what I was selling - and it took me 4 months of solid building.
