So I got an SEO client this week. I posted an add on CL, saying that if you own a small business I will get your site onto page one of google for free. The plan is to after I do that to then pitch them a monthly fee to keep them there.

So I am going to be manually creating web 2.0 properties, and submitting articles to directories. Doing the basic Link wheel stuff and back linking.

They have 8100 exact local searches for their keyword.

I don't even know if this is going to work, but got to fake it until you make it right?

So I guess my question is, IS this going to work lol? I am also adding some good content to their blog focused on their keyword.

Any pointers anyone? Thanks in advance

Pointers? Yeah, fuck doing stuff manually and invest in some automatic tools. It will free up enough time for you to take on many more clients paying you a lot more. Just because it's whitehat it doesn't mean it has to be manual.

First thing you need to work on is their local map listing since its a local business.

All sounds good but with getting the client, but i dont get the free stuff. I can be your second client if you do it for free ))

Ha well if they want to keep profiting and ant the high ranking, charge them for it. That's a good approach although some may get furious, but I think they will pay up if your competitive and reasonable

Bro, just outsource that. Put your price 2x higher than the service you'll use.

Rinse and repeat

If its Local Business then Google Placement is one Best thing you can offer him for small fee too..

So you will rank someone on the first page of Google for a specific keyword for free on the chance that they will pay you a monthly fee after they are ranking?

Thanks for the laugh buddy.

Absolutely, the plan is to take the first SEO check I get from them, and investing in some software to automate it.

Since your doing it for free, why not make a site of your own and rank that and charge a rental fee...that way you own the site and rankings...its easy to fake a business in any niche with a website.

This is how I started off, good luck

What I build I can destroy, yes if they want to stay there, they will have to pay me. Ranking this keyword wont be hard or time consuming either(at least what I am going to do wont be). Plus I am going to get a great testimonial and use them as a reference for people to call, all part of the deal I worked out. ALSO, Ive never really done this before, try getting someone to pay you for shit you have no experience doing, buddy.

if I were doing something for promotional purposes for free, I'd hope that my efforts had the potential to reach more than just one prospect at a time.

Yep that's the plan. I can't charge people for the initial service, because I've never really done it before lol. But if what Im is going will work, if they want to stay on the first page they will have to pay me. :)

What do you mean by rental fee? My theory is this, its easy to rank low search shit like 8100 searches. They have had their website up for 1 year, it looks like shit, their blog has 2 shitty articles, they have 2 backlinks from 2 comments on another shitty blog, and they are on Page 3 of google for their keyword.

So I I figure a couple articles, some web 2.o shit, some backlink packages and they will jump up a page or 2. Once their there, not to much work will be needed to keep them there, but $300 a month will be

good plan bro rofl

Not sure what is funny, but it definitely is a good plan. Myself and a lot of other offline BHWers have successfully used this approach to build up our businesses.

Without seeing the keyword I would suggest a hand full of genuine blog comments (not scrapebox} from relevant blogs (with page rank) on a related subject. Maybe throw a few retweets and google +1's at it also, to tick the social seo boxes.

I think you will need some page rank links to move this quickly.

Also when creating your web 2.0, think about creating them in a {your local area} business blog style. This means you can easily put new clients on there without the hassle of building new properties.

Why don't you point the links to a domain you own, redirect it to the clients site untill they show on the first side and if they don't want to pay go ahead and point the 301 to a competitor who pays?

I like your style. I have a local client that may just get a bit of that if he is late paying one more time.

NEVER do stuff for free. Instead of doing it for other people for free make some case studies on your own domains and then pitch people.
