I currently have four articles that have 1,500 words or more (per article) that resides on my four year old website. I am writing more posts in the coming weeks. I am focusing on long tail KWs as my main kw phrases. Wordpress is my CMS. I am using Yoast plugin.

Here is the problem. My articles are indexed (I check them with "site:URL") - However, these things aren't even ranking in the top 400.

Just wondering if anyone else had issues like this in the past.

The four articles were posted 4 years ago?

If you posted the articles 4 years ago and your website doesn't show anywhere on ahrefs or semrush, I assume that your website is penalized.

If you just posted the articles, it will take some time.
So, when did you posted the articles?

- Do you have any links to your website? Or non @ all?
- Did you add your website to google webmaster tools? (if yes do you have a message here (about a penalty)?)
- Do you have social accounts for the website and did you share the content on the social platforms?

You have to wait for the result and also continue your posting. Share your post on social media sections it helps for indexing and get views for your post.
Am also have the same doubt, when did you posted the articles? and you have backlinks for your site ?

It's called sandbox for websites that haven't posted any content in a long time.

It's indexed but not ranking at all, you may have to wait 1-2 months until it finally pops up, keep writing content. I experienced the same a few weeks ago and I'm still experiencing it in one website.

Long tail keywords can also be competitive.
Also it's not clear why only 4 articles are posted on 4 years old site.
Did you check your site for manual actions?
Did you try building any links?

You have to keep posting new content on regular basis. Min 1 article per week is advised. It's also advisable to check if you're competing in an already saturated context or not.
