I NEVER hide the dub dub dub!

I have success and nonsuccess with both short and long, much like all the big news sites, so you shouldn't say that it's a good idea to keep it short all the time, maybe. Maybe not, depending on the topic, if it's educational or viral then it might be longer than the average.

As for hyphens, if you use wp, or code this into your website, its not a major issue for the URLs you publish to always have a dash in them.
