    Hi Guys,

I am looking to read up more about SEO and was wondering if you had any good sites which might be a good starting point for me or any authors which i should be looking out for?

I am prepared to start from the beggining and read everything again as i have been mainly into black hat methods and don't think i have the basics. My black hat methods have been successful but i feel in orner to make my white hat site successful i need to know the basics. I probably do know them but would feel more confident if i started from the start and read up on the subject again.

So are there any authors, books or sites you would recommend reading?

    Thanks in advance.

Se0book.com has a lot of info, and the guy sells an ebook about seo, but there's also so much free info on the web if you search.

The st0mpernet guys are also big names in seo, there's many more as well.

I would get yourself a copy of seobook (there's an old copy on here I think) - he's pretty good when it comes to white hat seo. Seomoz have some ok stuff as well - if you sign up for free you get access to more of it. I did get a subscription for seomoz for a month for a dollar a while back but there wasnt much there that you couldn't get for free.

In all honesty tho doing it mixed with a little trial and error is the best method. Read Seobook's ebook and maybe one more but after that just go for it - between this site and the two ive mentioned you will have enough resources - all you need is a bit of experience.

I spent months (perhaps longer) reading every ebook/ website/ course etc on seo but in the end I could name the useful books on one hand and I would have learnt far more had I just set up a few sites and had a bash.

SEOBook all the way. It's a good read on the basics.

After SEO Book, just hit the backlinking. SENuke and Article Marketing Automation can do wonders for that.

cheers guys much appreciated. As mentioned i have read many articles etc and put a lot into practices but i think i just needed to go back to basics and understand what i am doing fully. Will give the sites you have all mentioned a try and look for that seobook.
