Hello,

So originally I started learning SEO to rank my own little sites to make some money. I have about 5 different URL's ranking at 2-3 in different niches. Now I have some interest in doing SEO for some local clients via friends who have just brought me up talking about SEO with people in their circles. These are doctors, small businesses and dentists etc. Who else runs their own SEO company for small businesses and what are the general steps you take when getting new clients? Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated.

Let that soak in before you decide to take on clients.

I used to work with 20+ clients until I got fed up with their shit. Fired them all and now full time affiliate marketing SEO.

"Does it work?!?!?!"..... I make your year salary (or more) per month. Yea it works... Fuck clients and their shitty little $600/month. I make that shit in hours now.

You are both bosses, you are not their employee

You have to deliver, thats it.
 
Understand that Local SEO =/= Organic SEO.

You can do organic SEO on local sites but if you want to do it right than you should be doing local SEO for them. Local SEO is a bit more involved but if the competition isn't doing it you can dominate it.

Do some research on it.

Local isn't insane to get your head around. It's just different.
 
I have been thinking about starting some Local SEO. Is there anywhere I could read a beginners guide on that? I mostly do web design and SEO for my own affiliate sites.

I always find the ones who talk the talk don't cash the cash. There is my little tip for you for today.

Dont get smoke by some clients who want to low ball you. If the price is not right, don't do it. Always work with the right client. Don't over promise as It will do you more harm than good. You will learn while you do your business. Good Luck!
