i have my own seo agency as most of us i guess. i need it to kickstart my other upcoming projects and today i spoke with one of my clients who si very satisfied because all his keywords are on page 1 but now he wants to do 5 websites but he told me that the amount he was paying me he can hire two persons for full time on his location. I was kinda surprised because i mean not everyone can get the results i have right?? anyways he had a point and im wondering if someone else encoutered the same pr blem?

i was like im going to make all his landing pages backlinks to my own domain should he go away i will still rank on his keywords and start my own website with an affiliate program or so? any other idea someone?

Is your client cool with that?

I do that periodically but only if the client is aware and only if he is fine with it.

It'll take some balls because I'm sure there's a hefty sum of money at stake but there's a few approaches you can take.

My favorite way of giving discounts like that is by making gaining a referral seem like a concession on your part. What I mean by that is something like this 'my price reflects the work I have to do, my expertise and the competition you face, however I understand you're potentially paying out a lot of money, so I'll make you a deal...if you can refer me to 2 people I'll know X amount off your bill'.

Another way I overcome price objections is this, 'how much is a single sale worth to you? (wait) Well based on the search number analysis that I've done, I'm confident that I can get you around X number of extra customers a month which is way beyond the price that I'm asking for these services, now you know I'm a proven entity, you know I get results...these other guys who can say.'

He's probably just trying to secure the best price for himself by scaring you, which is understandable. You need to understand that price objections are rarely about the price, if you can sell him on the value using some of the tactics above you can usually get the sale.

Late last year I fixed a client's website by simply removing all the links the former SEO had placed to his agency. I removed all the links and his site ranked again.... He asked what I did and I said "cleanup".

And those that pay the fees on time while taking an acceptable answer like that are the best type of clients :)
