Hi all, i'm writing a college paper on SEO so I need to estimate SEO actions on a website of professor's choice. Basically I need to look at the page and write down what needs to be changed in order to optimize website SEO (white hat of course :)).

Now I already have a bit of things myself, but I would be glad if some of you can help me highlight all actions that need to be done.

The website is munitor. hr and I have these things:

    - I think the page title is okay because it mentions the most specific search terms for that company. I don't know if some other terms should be included, or maybe in other order (name of the company first, terms second)?
    - meta description sucks. It should include concise representation of company offer and not some copywrited vague introduction and motto.
    - webpage URLs are basically useless, they should be intuitive so a search engine can find them easily based on terms, like /marketing, /insurance, etc., but can it be done even if they use aspnet forms?
    - too much JavaScript? Menus should be done some other way so search engines can find textual links (or include them somehow)
    - "about us" is basically hidden at the bottom of the page in their slogan, so any visitor couldn't possibly know he can click there. So that needs to be changed. (and what's with the pop-up title "milord"?!)
    - texts need to be copywritten for SEO, a bit more terms included but not too much?

So I hope I included everything? Thanks.

URLs aren't useless at all. So you should include smth about mod_rewrite. You did not mention any keywords, forgot it? That's what on site SEO is most likely about :p

BTW: Wrong section if you're lookin for white hat

    • Thanks Thanks x 1

Yeah, the URL is one of the first things (and, in my opinion) one of the most important things to consider!

What you have listed is pretty good, and in my experience, the most important items.

IMO, the page titles are bad though. They should have the keywords they are optimizing for. So for example, the Insurance page title is "INSURANCE - used vessels, insurance, transport - Munitor exclusive brokerage-management"

If they are optimizing for Vessel Insurance, then it should say "Vessel Insurance" and not just "Insurance"

Also, for getting a better CTR from the SERPs, you will want something that sounds interesting and makes people want to click.
