What would be the best way to get my company on top of google locally?

Find some keywords that are related to your niche. Rank those with backlinks, good on-page SEO, and web 2.0's.
Create a link wheel (research on this) and you'll be on the top ranking for your keyword.

Post your review on that with the link.

Do simple seo.. Search for how to do seo and start off.

Start simple and keep building. Google Places is great. Submitting reviews to some of the top business review sites will also help greatly.

Plenty of info around the boards here. Take a look around.
