Senuke X Users: DDOS attack occuring again.

but till then I have orders I can't deliver and campaigns for my clients interrupted. So it's all fucked up for me.

I'm in the same boat... 2-3 days of downtime is going to cost me a lot of money. I'm already going to have to preemptively issue some refunds to my high paying customers. Better to get proactive and communicate with them and offer compensation, then sit back and hope it all works out.

From SenukeX.com forums a bit ago:

Ok what's happening was that a lot of nukers were incorrectly added to a temporary ban list to protect from attacks (ddos still on-going). People stay in the temp ban list for 45 minutes to an hour and a half. I will be emptying out the temporary ban list in about 10 minutes. Once you can get back in, update to the latest version of nuke (1.2.6) and you won't go into the temp ban list again.

Don't use any version prior to 1.2.6! That could send you to the temp ban list again.

... a bit of a Catch 22 if your IP can't access the server to update. hehe

Thanks for the info. It's sound like a good news.

So who's attacking Senuke? Bastards!
Hope you guys get it sorted.

And jerzy, ddos VERY hard to defend/prevent - plenty big companies get done - hsbc, pp and others I believe.

Distributed denial of service - attacks coming from a massive ip range what do you do? Block every ip? Then you block everyone anyway, so it's very difficult.

Just got this email from Areeb:

Hey guys,

First of all, my sincere apologies about all that has taken place the last couple of days.

The DDoS attacks have been non-stop since the last 3 days. These guys refuse to give up. It's a shame how low some people can go to destroy another's business.

In the process of mitigating these attacks, our system had to ban thousands of IP addresses. Unfortunately many of these were "false positives", so real customers got banned.

The good news is, those bans only last for 45 minutes to an hour and a half maximum. So if you were able to get into SEnuke earlier, but then weren't able to get in after a while, that would explain why.

Here's what you need to do:

We have just released another update (v1.2.6) which will prevent real customers from going on the temporary ban list. So as soon as you are able to get back into SEnuke, make sure you update to the latest version. Versions prior to 1.2.6 will not work and will get you added to the temporary ban list again.

After you do the update to 1.2.6, everything should be smooth sailing from there.

If you can't get in right now, you're probably on the temp ban list and will need to wait 45 minutes to an hour and a half to be removed from that list.

If you still can't get in after an hour and a half, DNS has probably not yet propagated in your area (it has propagated in 90% of the world already). Even without being able to access our main domain, you can get in touch with us by accessing our forum through this link:

174.37.9.201/forum

(If you can't get to that page, then you're still on the temp ban list and will need to wait it out.)

P.S. Our website might still go down from time to time for 15-20 minute intervals as we block new waves of these attacks, but that won't affect the software much once you update to v1.2.6.

Best,
Areeb & The SEnuke Team

For some reason, I do not believe this is a DDOS attack. With all the money Areeb has, why wouldn't he have another server for authentication?

Maybe it is, I don't know. Just speculation.
