I have the same service as a competitor and used builtwith to see his email hosting, and is using Mailjet. He's sending mass cold emails though, not transactional. If this is the only email hosting listed on his domain, does this mean he is using this? Mailjet says it doesn't allow this.
I need some advice.

If you are handling transactional mail, just throw a stone in any direction, and you'll hit a solution.
For cold mail, it gets more complicated, but unless you are 100% entrenched in email, then being concerned about sending reputation is just gonna be a waste of your time, and make you miserable.
If you are just short term, then you only need to segment your domains, and blast.
Try Mailgun, OVH, or self-hosted (be careful), and best to you.

So, your investigation is unfounded. Because you looked up his public system via mailjet. He is using mailjet, not for warm-ups but to send transactional emails to his own paid users and subscribers.

You warm up an account to ensure you get to Google's sending limits (This is an arbitrary number between 300 to 500 per day).

As per this page, https://www.gmass.co/warmup - there are 35K+ accounts warming up.

These accounts utilize Google's OAuth (API) https://developers.google.com/identity/protocols/oauth2 to communicate with each other.

When you login and provide credentials, you're just giving permission to a Google App. So the app adds you to the pool, the system begins by sending 2 emails to someone randomly in the warmup pool, it marks incoming emails as ready, responds to some emails, moves some emails to the Important/Primary, so on and so forth.

In some time, your limit gradually increases. And you can utilize that account for 200+ emails/day.

1. Warm easily takes 3 weeks.
2. All the emails warming you up are within the Google ecosystem.
3. Yes, 200 emails per day is a soft limit of Google. You should stick to it and rotate your accounts.
4. Workspace has a limit of 2000 per day, but even they require warm ups. Also, trial Workspace only has a limit of 500 per day.

This service is only for Gmail/Workspace accounts.
