Just wondering what you guys prefer? semrush or ahrefs?

Depends what you are looking for?
For checking backlink profile, only Ahrefs, as they have the biggest database I guess.
For KW research, Semrush is a beast.

Sometimes using Ahrefs for KW research too, as they have some great features, but usually Semrush.

Same as @nodyguy - ahrefs mostly for backlink checks and SemRush for keywords. But you can't rely on one tool, sometimes the difference is up to 10x. So don't get tied to this tools, also add Moz, SimilarWeb, Majestic, etc.

When you analyze a competition - are you creating a detailed sheet and send it to your VA?
Which factors usually you including in the sheet if you do creating one.
