I have been thinking about this lately.
A lot of us pay for multiple SEO tools. On paper, they all promise similar data. Keywords, backlinks, traffic estimates, site audits. But when it comes to daily work, I noticed I only open one of them most of the time.
For me, it depends on the task. If I am checking competitors and looking at new keyword ideas, I tend to open one tool first out of habit. The layout just feels faster. When I am deep into backlink research or trying to understand link gaps, I switch to the other one because I trust the link index a bit more.
But here is the real question.
In 2026, with AI overviews, zero-click searches, and traffic dropping for many sites, are we overpaying for overlapping data? I sometimes feel like 70 percent of what I check could be done with one solid tool and some manual digging.
I also noticed I rarely use all the extra features like content templates or fancy reports. I mostly stick to keywords, backlinks, and competitor pages. The rest just sits there.
So I am curious.
If you had to cut down to just one, which one would you keep? And more importantly, which one do you actually open more in your daily workflow?
