Semrush keyword gap

Hi, have a short but probably obvious question:

If I use the Keyword Gap function in Semrush, is it advisable to optimize the article for the competitor's keywords as well, and also to include missing keywords through Semrush if they make sense?

The first domain is on position 1 and mine on position 2.

I'm not familiar with Semrush, but if "keyword gap" means what I think it does (keywords that your competitors use which you don't) then yeah, it's OK to include your competitor's keywords in your own article as long as the keywords are relevant to the content. After all, that's one of the main uses of keyword gap
