Hi all

Im auditing a site and it has https implemented, with 301 redirects from http pages to their https counterparts.

I'm getting the error from a site crawl "No redirect or canonical to HTTPS homepage from HTTP version" - this relates to the homepage.

The http version of the homepage does 301 redirect to the https version - I can't physically access the http version of the page (because of the redirect) so can't see its canonical tag, but the https homepage has a self referencing canonical tag.

Why is SEMRush showing this as an error - when it is not there?

I've seen this message in several people's reports over the years and sorta came to the conclusion that it's a SEMRush issue. If you run it through a http header checker and the redirect is there, Google is picking up your https pages and nothing else is giving you a similar error, it pretty much has to be poor implementation or logic on SEMRush's part.
