Sorry for the lack of updates. Took on a bit more than I was prepared to chew lately with too many projects at once.

The marketplace backlinks were as pointless as expected. The semi-duplicate content does rank but it's not enough traffic to write home about yet. I'd need to drill down to focus on a small number of sites and get a decent amount of content/links together to make it worthwhile. It's been on too small of a scale so far to really talk about the results much.

I'll be doing a variation of this in the very near future with a lot more actual effort put into it. The plan is to use social traffic to justify the time I'm dumping on it while the SEO is so slow. Not going to even attempt a timeline since I've a sports trading setup to do this week and god knows what else but I'll hopefully get a start on it next week.
 
Just a small update to this one since I happened to spot some ranking notifications for it today.

I remember trying this on three sites. One was in the healthcare niche and looks like it was hit by YMYL updates. The other two actually have a couple of first page rankings including a couple of snippets sitting in #0 with rankings consistently growing.

Took a couple of months but for 0 backlinks that's not bad. Something I might have to look at again in the near future once I clear up a few other projects but anyone who tells you duplicate content doesn't rank hasn't looked at a SERP.

I'd have to check what affiliate network they're actually on but I know both of those sites convert.

The failure rate is still relatively high and oh god that 5 month SEO wait. However, I'm glad I checked because this content model is very scalable and after I clear another project or two off my plate I might get back to this with some proper backlinking and on a better scale.
 
Just a small further update to this since I happened to be looking in these niches. Rankings continue to climb after the latest updates we're at an all-time high for organic SEO traffic on these domains.

Starting to think about actually working on this. Between a bit of code and a VA who can rub two brain cells together, this could actually be a pretty scalable system but I've taken on a couple of different projects at the moment so it's going to have to wait a little longer.
 
Im following as i do have a question!

How many low competition keywords one can target for a new brand site ???

the site has the main keyword of the niche
