Im completely new to selling websites and would like to ask a few questions.

Do i purchase the domain and hosting? or charge the customer? would i charge the customer the full price from the very start or when the website is completed?

Thanks

You can try reseller methods for domains and hosting. And for charging for the website, you should decide a upfront amount and ask the client for it. Coz you never know what's gonna happen.

Are you designing a website for a client or selling existing websites to people?

If designing for a client they would order the domain and either you or them would deal with the hosting depending how tech-comfortable they are.

You have a few options.

1. A client hires you to design a website. You can give them a domain as part of the package or (more commonly) have then supply it.

2. You build a website and list it for sale.

3. You build a website and make it profitable. You then sell both domain and website based on design, domain value, and earnings.

4. You do step 3 and allow a client to lease it.

I'm happy to expand on any of these if you'd like.

I always make sure the client buys the domain. It's not worth the small amount of money from reselling to deal with clients at every renewal.

For hosting, I use an affiliate account and tell the client if they use my affiliate I will give them $25 off. They are happier and I get an extra $25.

As for pricing, I do a 50/50 split. 50% to start, 50% when finished. I think this is customary and it motivates both parties to be honest.

You question doesn't clarify many things. Are you making websites for a company/person that hired you, if so let them buy the domain or you wan't to sell a website on marketplace, then you buy the domain
