A guy at work and I were talking about this and I wondered what you guys' take is on this.

Here's the idea. Download a bunch of amature adult vids from sites like P0rn Hub and the like and sell them off of a website for really cheap, like a couple of bucks each. There's no copyright on them and there are plenty of idiots out there that don't know they can get them for free. What are your thoughts? Could there be legal issues with this if there's no copyright on them?

Don't kill me, I had to ask.

Copyright exists whether or not it is stated. The real question is would you get caught. If it was low key and you advertised locally probably not..... for a while :D

Yeah, I'm kind of afraid to try it, but I bet some money could be made.

I wouldn't even mess with the copyrights issue by selling the individual videos, but rather setup a membership site for a few bucks per month for "access" to your library of online videos.

And of course with a decent video script you could easily build a huge library of videos to offer very quickly.

The problem with either way though, selling the vids or selling membership access, is that the majority of surfers these days expect adult entertainment to be free.

There aren't as many idiots out there surfing for p0rn as you might think when it comes to spending their money. They use Google and they add "free" to the search terms. Its hard to compete unless you have a solid niche or angle that hasn't been saturated to offer them.

If I were you I would stay away from it. Selling someone else's property is probably not the best idea.

But it would be within your interest to locate some of the possible Copyright laws and perhaps scan them for any loop holes that would allow this. Start with the sites hosting the vids.

earn money in a SAFE WAY...what for take unnecessary trouble ? There are tons of money making ideals here...

Not only is there a copyright problem, but if you're selling to USA surfers you encounter a law known as U.S.C. 18 SS 2257 which could put you in VERY big legal trouble if you are selling content without proof that the models are 18+

VERY good point. I hadn't considered that. For that reason alone, it's a bad idea. Thanks!

You can burn uncopyrighted movies and sell them though (ex: movies that are open source).

Just some food for thought
