Hi there, recently i had great success in selling tickets for the Lady Gaga in my country. Bought 8 tickets and doubled the price. This is illegal in my country and i made my ad with precatiouns (not ebay).

I see that many tickets are sold on ebay and im wondering what the rules are for selling tickets in the UK and America. As far as i can understand it is illegal in some states. Can anyone shed some light on this? I am considering going international since the market for soccer, fotball and concert tickets are relatively small in my country. What are ebays rules on this?

I wanna do this right and im sharing my story here afterwards.

Best thing to do would be to look at any FAQ or Ebay's Terms of Service. Honestly if ti worked out and your making money why not try it again?

Well i am gonna try again, just dont want my only account banned. I was hoping someone else had experience with ticket sale in here and could give some pointers. The investment price is high but the payoff is really great if you play safe and only pick popular bands and teams.

I doubt you will have problems on ebay, tons of people are doing it anyways - http://shop.ebay.com/items/lady-gaga-tickets?_rdc=1

just make sure you buy for major concerts. i've done it in the past, made money (green day) and lost money (sheryl crow). so it all depends

but lady gaga, good way to go, i was going do the same thing, just went in a different direction. but it does work

I considered doing this years ago. It seemed like such a great idea with people reselling tickets for many times more than they're worth. Front Row seats for the NBA finals were selling for 50 thousand when it's only worth 5 thousand face value.

The only problem is that the ticket brokers have such a strangle hold on ticket sources. They're huge and have lots of money to buy tickets with. It would be hard to break into this business without a lot of initial capital. Then you have to build a network of sources and connections. It just seems impossible to get into.

Yeah the big guys are all over the market. But that does not stop you from buying some tickets.
You should be able to get at least eight tickets on a concert, this is usually the limit per person.
Just be there when they are put out.

I know some persons who has stopped working and made this to a job. They have great sources. I heard they talking about places on the net which discusses tickets, whats popular and whats not. I think the main challenge is getting good sources.

Whats up with the moderation system, i trigger it every time i try to post ??

I could be wrong, but in the United States, I think it depends on the state. In the state of Virginia where I live, it is illegal to scalp tickets, but people do it all the time.

But what does ebay do if you put them out in a state where it is illegal?

It's not allowed in some States/Countries. ebay.co.uk doesn't allow selling of football tickets at all. one of my account got suspended earlier this year when i tried selling UEFA Champions League tickets.
