Selling through FB.

Is it a good idea? There are apps on the Marketplace, would it be a good place to resell stuff like phone minutes and giftcards through the market or just by posting statuses saying I have X and I want to sell it via paypal?

Sashablack raises an important question about you having a website. In general you will want to have a place to drive traffic on facebook to (like a website). It could be some other place but in general you want to engage them on Facebook and get them to go somewhere else to buy.

Alternatively, you could either buy or develop an application to sell through a page tab on Facebook. This isn't ideal because they are still on Facebook but I have seen it done. If you don't have products to sell or download the wont work though.
