selling t-shirts

i want to sell some t-shirts. i can make the site for it. and i have the images that can go on the shirts. my problem is i'm low on cash.
is there any way i can do this?

also where can i find some distributor. maybe some clothing company/distributer who can ship the stuff for me.
like if a customer orders from my site with a credit/paypal, then that order if goes to their warehouse. or whatever the most cost effective way is.

Thing you are talking about known as DropShipping

client pays you > You pay Suplier > Suplier Send t-shirt to client >
 
yea mods plz move this to the dropship forum

i need some more info tho. where can i get this dropshipping from, any recommendations. cuz like i said cash is really low right now
 
As already mentioned, cafe press, zazzle for dropshiping, but this niche could be a little be over saturated. Too many T-shirt suppliers nowadays
 
Keep the shirts simple. For screen printed shirts (the norm for shirt printing) you have to pay a setup fee for every screen. The setup fee is usually between $20-$40 so a one color shirt may have a base cost of $20-$40 while a four color shirt will have a base cost of $80-$160.

Also, obviously the more you buy the more you save money. I like to buy locally to avoid large shipping costs (wholesale orders of shirts are heavy and expensive to ship)

Shirts are a good business if you can find the right client base. You should be making at LEAST double your money for every shirt you sell.

azguru is giving some very good information. Let me just add something

That is you follow trends, and act crazy fast, even with small media events you can still cash in big. Check out some posts on BHW about that.

None. The base cost is solely for screens. The amount of shirts you get would be extra. Usually you have to order atleast 25. The brand of shirt you choose to go with will decide the price per shirt. It could be anywhere between $3-$8
 
As Azguru mentioned try to get your start locally to save you some cash flow. There are many possibilities in any decent sized city. If you live in a college town your golden. Just try and find out what events are going to take place relatively soon.

Let's just say the Kappa Zappa Dappa frat is throwing a Spring Festival in May. Get the Art Department to help you design some things. Talk to a local guy. If possible find one that works part time from his garage. Now this person will want the screen charge up front to make the screens. Do what ever to raise that capital. Next you will have to invest some money in the shirts. With some luck the printer may let you have them net 30.

Buy shirts in this way: Some LG, more 2x, and some 3x Remember girls like them big to lounge and/or sleep in.

After the event sell the left overs at a community yard sale type area.

I would go with dropshippers that offer anon shipping. cafepress and zazzle don't do this and co's that offer you dtg printing. This way you can get the full use out of your images rather than relying on crappy silkscreened 1-2 color designs
 
I will recommend you not to build new website for selling your t-shirt but register to bigger marketplace like ebay, etsy or bonanza. If you build new site, you'll need to do SEO to drive traffic and it took a lot of time and effort.

for dropshipping vendor you may use cafepress, zazle, shirmagic, dropshipkaos or dropshirt

strong point at t-shirt selling is on research. terapeak doing great.
