Does anyone sell stuff through social networks? I mean tangible items. I didn't want to hijack another person's thread, but they brought up a site that has been quite profitable for me in the past few months ($1,500-2,500). I was wondering if anyone else uses it or at least checked it out OR sells socially on other sites.

Oh, the site is Wish! Sorry, I forgot to add that!

For me, the most effective use of social networking is to build a platform you keep people coming back to by providing value. Once you have a following only then should you slip in the occasional product or affiliate link.

Just my 2 cents though.

This site doesn't work like that. It works like pinterest, but the users can actually buy products from the site. The users contribute content by linking to products that they "wish" for (similar to pinning something on pinterest). When other users see it, if they like it then they "wish" for it as well. Items can become virally popular within a matter of days. Perfect example being, as a user I uploaded an item about 2 months ago that now has over 260,000 wishes. The marketing potential is crazy. I've attached a portion of an email showing just how many people have viewed and liked products that I've added since I joined this year. wish.png

If anyone is interested in this I would love to connect because I have a proposal for generating at least $1,000/month from this site and if it works out I can include others to increase that amount.
