Hi there,

I'm working with a client that doesn't know what SEO is and why it's important. I need to create a powerpoint presentation to sell it to him.I want to focus on the custom strategy for them and not have to create slides teaching what SEO. That'd take too much time.

Are there any powerpoint presentations/white papers/articles that you have seen that can help me?Thanks!

One of the easiest ways that come to my mind would be to look at some SEO Infographics. You would definitely have some take aways of a high level explanation and obvious benefit for the client. It would also give you an idea of how to make your ppt very graphically pleasing and engaging.

It's best to show them the potential of SEO by comparing sites that have done SEO on their site to that niche or those who did not.

And explain him main major factors not need to go in depth like how it will be done etc if you are an SEO expert ;)

If you were going to do a comparison, I'd have a screen shot of a before and after of SERPs from the same site, and redact any info regarding the owner, the bulk of the title and address (to prevent identification obviously).

If this is your first go about with SEO, or you're unable to perform this in the meanwhile without the lead going cold, this clearly wouldn't be an option.

I would start with on-site SEO for the presentation, without going into details, simply elaborating on how you can make the current website more effective INTERNALLY to increase exposure. If the client is hesitant, they probably don't comprehend the importance of a website in today's business in the first place.

You can move on from there after they realize that things can be more efficient and more importantly PROFITABLE despite an initial and on-going online marketing budget. Ensure once this is accomplished, to get written agreement "contract" and be pre-paid for a smaller duration of service.

You can add their website and business\contact info to local directories for citation, add reviews, perform on-going social media, and work on back linking afterwards. I'd probably do it in that order so they see results, but don't figure "that's good enough" and become complacent yet again.
