Selling SEO... 301 redirect or not?

For those who sell SEO services, do you point the links directly at the customers site or do you point it to your domain and then redirect?`

Most people do it towards their own domains and then 301 redirect it and once they stop paying for the SEO monthly service they just redirect them to a new client.

I use a 301 redirect unless they've purchased something that is business specific like a press release.

How does this work? You build links to your own domain and than just redirect the traffic?

So what is the solution if 301 does not pass on any PR?? thanks ws

The article said it did pass pr to new site. He said the amount lost was so minimal that a 301 is still the route to go. Have been thinking about doing this for a site that ranks 1 but I can't seem to sell. Maybe I can use it for seo purposes by renting the 301 redirect and ranking a new clients current site. Thoughts?
