Selling on FLIPPA is a NIGHTMARE.

Not only do they charge a $19 fee to list but they also charge a 5% success fee. I know, I know... newsflash that's been going on for some time now right? Hold on now....

BEFORE, if your auction failed to sell you'd be able to relist it for free.... now they charge HALF of the $19 fee to relist it.

Oh yeah, and if you want to sell any website on Flippa, you'd have to make sure to only accept Escrow since you don't want to be hit with a chargeback via Paypal after you've already sent the domain.

Don't even get me started about listing on DP! I wish BHW could create a special section just for domain/site sales.

yea this is how sites make money....does everything have to be free.....or just for you?We know that flippa is trying to make a buck but after awhile someone will make a site to compete...OHH there are other site that do that now....right?

$19 to list
5% success fee to Flippa
3.25% transaction fee for Escrow

Free? No one said it has to be FREE.

If your suggesting that there are other competitors to Flippa that have a good base of buyers and sellers without as many fees, I'm all ears.

1-$19 for the listing is fair i think otherwise the website will be like eBay & DB (Websites Selling Section Spam & Spam)
2-Flippa is number 1 in Google for : Buying Websites keyword plus a lot of high & medium search keywords
3-if you know how to use this 2nd factor and focus about a tiny portion of Flippa audience, you can make like $5K-$10K /Month Like Me easy
4-You have to grow your list of those targeted buyers by sending them Website before list them in Flippa with some discount (of course)
5-YOU HAVE TO A HONEST SELLER AND TECH GUY IF SOMETHING HAPPEN AND THEY NEED YOUR HELP.

The sad truth that people don't realise is that there's more to running a successful marketplace than having a half-arsed script running on your server and a few forum accounts to spam your ads to the IM community.

What you need is BUYERS. And Flippa have them. End of story.

Quite frankly, if Flippa decided today that they would increase the listing fee from $19 to $190 and the success fee from $149 to $500 I would still list there. - because currently they are the ONLY marketplace around that have a constant supply of buyer traffic and this is something that none of the "let's buy a flippa clone script and set up our own marketplace" guys will be able to achieve any time soon, if ever.

All in all, we can complain over Flippa's prices as much as we want but it won't change absolutely anything at all.

You think Paypal would have developed some type of escrow system by now. I'm sure it would save them tons of labor hours reviewing disputes.

i'm serious, how can something like this come about? i think it's an awesome idea, and i think it's quite possible... but i have no idea how the admins/mods would go about this. i think it's very doable though...! i'm in. particularly since i have some sites of my own up my sleeve, lol...

I approve that. I would really like to see a section for that. Sometimes I want to ask some stuff about domains, flipping domains etc etc and I wonder "which seat should I take.."

I would like to see it too. But I think it would create a lot of overhead for the admins/mods. Imagine all the disputes and people ending up on the "list".

That's the problem right there... Flippa has too much of a monopoly and thus can set the price at whatever they want.

I wouldn't care about the possibility of chargebacks either if the websites I was selling were around your final prices.
