So for about a whole year now I've been seeing people sell "proxy/orica" trading cards for popular branded tcg's on ebay and they're clearly selling them under the pretence that in good faith you understand youre purchasing "proxies" known as fakes basically for the purpose of being able to afford them for testing deck or budget collecting. The items are priced at like a fraction of the price 1/10th sometimes even 1/20th and don't exceed £5. The communities in said game seem to approve of the fakes for the use stated above but I can't really find almost any indepth discussion on the subject in terms of legality enforcement behind them. One one of the major card games returned discussion on people publicly calling it out and condemning it/reporting it since it's against that communities wishes but for the others since it's to a degree widely accepted when played in groups of friends etc there doesn't seem to be anyone talking about people selling them. But at the same time there isn't practically really anyone selling them. All the item is really is just a bit of scanned photo paper stuck on a card to imitate a real one for the purpose of simulation.

My concern is I'm wondering if I am approached about doing it how they will go about it? there are a number of options in the uk that I've read about including, vero ebay program for copyright, trading standards etc etc

likeliness of action ever taken? if so the harshness?

not intending to be a huge scale thing but proportionately sized and others to my knowledge seem to have been able to do it since early last year. And none of my info is publicly view able

If you are super worried, to stay save safe look into stealth eBay account. Look for a way to pad your identity. I recently had some products taken down. They are not proxy, but unbranded similar products. I simply got a warning. I was using brand name in my eBay title. My products are basically clones with no trademark reference. You have to do a lot to get banned. If you are selling copyrighted or fake stuff they usually will just take down your listing. If it repeats your account will be closed. You have to make a lot of money for feds to come for you. I really would not worry about them . I just checked eBay and the TCG selling very good. I can tell a lot of these sellers just using normal accounts. Some have very good feedback. If you can make these cards yourself or find Chinese supplier I would go for it. I googled "orica yugioh" cards. They are popular and multiple people selling them. You'll be fine with the scale you are selling at. Go on ebay and type "proxy card." This will give you sone good ideas what is selling. Always do own research though on laws, I live in U.S lol.
