Selling Iphones Abroad

I have been running into people in my city lately buying Iphones (5,5S,5C) and selling them abroad for about $1k per phone. I was wondering if anyone had any insight or info on this. I want to know who buys them and which countries are people selling them to.

My guess any country with the exception of canada I think. I know in latinoamerica iPhones are a very expensive even 1k is little bit cheaper.

I don't know. in India, an used Iphone 5 sells in around $480 on Ebay which is quite new like 1 month old or so! And for new it's around $647 here. I guess it all depends on Phone condition and whether its brand new or refurbished or used!
