Selling Excel spreadsheets

I'm thinking of maybe selling excel spreadsheets, anyone here have any experience doing that?

My question is should I bother protecting them?

There's licensing solutions out there, but I'm thinking if people want to copy and share it anyway they're is not much I can really do to stop them?

Please somebody who has done this let me know how you approach it!

no experience in selling, but as far as protection goes:

I have seen lots and lots of services selling and giving it away for free. Actually some of the major consultancy firms are giving them away for free. I assume it's to rank for certain terms in Google, so it's an cheap and easy way to get customers.

Sorry if I was unclear, I have a spreadsheet all setup with formulas etc that would be very helpful for people in my niche. I'm thinking of selling this spreadsheet as a product, just wondering to sell it using normal platforms such as as e-junkie or whether to look into extra piracy protection licensing programs to people have to enter their licence number when using it.

The problem is many of those sites look quite outdated so I'm not sure which one to go with.
