Hello BHWs,

Well, I'm sure this may be here somewhere but I cannot find it. Well, I'm new to this 'domaining' business and I accidentally stumbled upon a gaming domain name which I think might be of value. My main question is:

How do you sell domains?

I know the question is so stupid, but please bare with me. So do you simply go register it for that $10 or so like you're gonna use it yourself? How do you put it up for sale or transfer its ownership?

Lastly, how can you properly estimate a domain's value?

Thanks a lot and again, sorry for wasting your time on these kind of questions.

Domaining is not get rich scheme. You must wait to see profits.

Domain buyers are of two kinds.

1. End users.
2. Fellow domainers.

End users are people who buy domain for their own use and they will not resell it for some time. These guys will pay very good prices for domains they like. You can get their attention by mailing potential clients or if your domain is really good you will get offers. You must ensure that the phone no and mail id that you provide during registration is working so that these guys can contact you.

Domainers are guys like you who flip(buy and sell) domains for profit. You can catch their attention by listing in domaining forums and auction sites. (just google.)

To estimate the value of domain type the domain name and see if any advertisers are bidding for the keyword and how much they are paying for ad spots. Other factors which affect value of domains are age, search volume for the keyword in the domain, value of the keyword and the target market. Sites like estibot give a rough estimate though there are no hard and fast rules.

Yes you simply register the domain with you favorite register. You can list your domain for sale at sedo.com, ebay.com or visit namepros.com or dnforum.com ,thoose are were domainers are around. You cant estimate 100% a domains value, its worth what the buyer will pay for it! I do appraise my domains myself, its more accurate!

Thank you very much for the advice.

I know it's not a get rich scheme, thanks for the head up anyway.

Well, can you please provide technical details? I mean, let's say I simply register a domain and found a buyer. How is the whole process 'processed'? (Assuming we're using Paypal)

Thanks :)
