Was looking to find out if there is a way to selling digital items on eBay. I read somewhere that in specific countries eBay allow sales for digital items but I can't remember where it was.

I am looking to sell Microsoft Points, so nothing like keys or anything.

I'm pretty sure it'd country dependent, for example, I know that in the U.S. you can sell eBooks on eBay, but not in the U.K.

IMO.... waste of time. Even if you can get thru Ebay, Paypal will put the Kibosh on you. Focus your ideas elsewhere. Build your own site and go from there. Either way, Good Luck!

Hi yes you can sell ebooks an other digital items, but you have to post it on disc to them sometimes you can get away with it and email them download link instaed but depends on the buyer if they complain that you have sent via download.
also you have to list it books, others catagorie.
    hope this helps

I'm also planning to sell ebooks on ebay but I have checked the related listings and all of them are offering cd\dvd. I got this service kunaki which lets you publish and ship the cd but if I can just give the buyers the download link then I would profit more.

Just print the download link on a sheet of paper and mail it in an envelope. Now you have physical means of verifing delivery to satisfy paypal. But really if you want to sell intangible goods, do it from a website that specializes in that arena, there are many available such as tradebit.com, payloadz.com, e-junkie.com, download-bay.com, etc.

By posting to sites that sell intangible goods, you'll cater to buyers that are looking explicitly to buy intangible goods.

Yeah, I agree with marco that is good idea to verify delivery, otherwise could be problems.

If you send the download link through mail, then how do you list your digital items on ebay? Tricking them that you will send them dvd/cd but instead a piece of paper will not be a good idea. Also, I have already listed some items in tradebit but I'm getting low volume of sales due to small amount of traffic.

What if you send them a discount voucher/coupon for Amazon Kindle which is your own written works?

Will that be acceptable in the post etc?
Can you even print off a voucher coupon code on Amazon?

yes, if you print them, and you ship the paper to buyer address, then give tracking to paypal account and ebay account, your account still fine

The point of sending them a physical piece of mail with access to the digital product (whether its on DVD/CD or a piece of paper) is to have a verifiable tracking number for paypal purposes to protect you as a seller. A buyer that tries to get your ebook for free by claiming a refund immediately after purchase will have to send back the DVD/CD or piece of paper to get their refund. This is not a trick, there are many that sell retail software and guess what they usually come on a disk.

If you are listing it on ebay as a digital item, list it as software or as a book in electronic format, which will be delivered by snail mail. Give it a try and see how it works.

it can be profitable depending on what your selling. iv been doing it for about 6months now. its fine. although i have stopped now as i am really sick of people claiming 'unauthorised transaction' through paypal. i have noway of proving i sent the item so have to give the money back. cant believe howmany buyers try to scam me!!

You can advertise in Ebay for $ 10 a month
and send traffic from there to your
    site .

And that's why you send it the digital product on a disk or in an envelope, to prove the physical delivery of the product. You'll greatly reduce the number of malicious buyers that try to get stuff for free by using the paypal dispute method.
