I've currently set up an auction on flippa. Does anyone have any advise on where I should be promoting this auction or similar sites I should list on?

I agree. If you are not an expert, it is almost always better to hire someone who is. This applies to all business, not just IM.

When i sold my website in december 2009, i used the services of a website broker, based in Australia. He is a great guy, that did a pretty good job for me. He neted me over 5000$. If your site doesn't make money, or it doesn't have any subscribers, you will get less money for it. My website on the date i sold it, was about 8 months.
