Hi all,
I recently put new items in one of my Shopify stores. I came across 2 highly rated sellers of the item on AliExpress.
I selected the seller with more orders and did a few test orders which got shipped quite fast.
The issue is that most of my orders since April 29th have not been shipped and there are still 4 days left for "processing" the orders. The only orders that got shipped were a different color which only a few customers are ordering. This indicates to be that they probably don't have stock of the main colour. I messaged the seller a few days back and they gave a generic reply saying that they will ship soon.
In the mean time, I did a few test orders with the other seller and they got shipped quite fast.
My question is: Should I wait for 4 more days and hope the seller ships or should I cancel my orders and re-order with the other seller?
Thanks.

It all depends on what is the delivery period you offer, if you feel the orders are gonna be late, I would definitely advise you to cancel them and order from a different top rated seller, even if it means incurring in higher costs in order to ship faster.

I always put customer satisfaction first, it is better to take a small hit to solve an issue like this rather than losing a customer as well as potential referrals. In online retail few things can upset more a customer than a late delivery, so do not risk it.

Also, always try -where possible- to test sellers yourself to assess their capabilities first hand before using them to dropship to your customers, this will save you a few headaches.

Best of luck!

There are deliveries delayed around the world bro. Aliexpress sent out an email regarding this. As countries are slowly coming out of lockdown theres such a backlog of orders to crawl through. Just tell your customers this and move forward

Very valid point as well, given the circumstances your customers should be a little more forgiving
