i ordered a part for my car with this douchebag via PayPal invoice and the guy sold them to me as brand new. The ahole sends me the parts but used so I send them back for a full refund. He opened a claim against me saying that the part was brand new (bullsh**) and now he's telling me that's he's going to report me to IC3??! What are my options? I've never scammed anybody in my life and that is simply not in my character. I feel like I need to defend myself now and prove to authorities that this douchebag sent me the parts used and not brand new. Any help is appreciated thanks fellas!

It was paypal and I opened a claim and lost because the seller claims he sold me a new part. The part was used and old and now he says he's reporting me to IC3 because I supposedly sent him a used part . I don't understand at all. What the hell is gonna claim to IC3 I didn't do anything???
Basically when I returned the item to him he's claiming that it is used and that he sent me a new one.
What worries me is that he's reporting me to IC3 when I didn't do anything. The part is $400 ... What will ic3 do in this situation

If he sends you a new one, then he needs a proof of shipping.
So call your PayPal and ask for shipping details.
If he didn't deliver new, he can't show shipping details.

Forget about it. If he won the PayPal dispute then he probably isn't going to do anything.
But your whole story does sound suspicious, as if it had happened to me, I would be more concerned about getting my moneyback and reporting him. Did you take pictures? How did you lose the dispute?
So if you did swap parts and have done this before then yes, you should be worried, otherwise forget about it as he has his moneyback.

Tell Paypal to ask for the shipping information. You should have taken a picture before sending it back. I doubt IC3 is going to give a shit.
I didn't take pictures before sending it. I guess I forked that up. Im trying to think how I can prove what he sent me was used - this happens all the time on eBay with sneaker reselling also- I would sell a brand new sneaker and the eBay guy would send me back used sneakers and I never had the ability to prove what I sent was in fact brand new. eBay even told me that even if I did have pictures or video of me shipping out and showing the sneaker was new I still wasn't backed up. I f****g hate shopping and selling online.

I think you should try again in paypal and explain them what has happened. The only thing that you have against you is that you don't have any proof. If you had pictures of this item there is a high chance that you would have got your money back. If the seller is winning the case then the seller has strong evidence against you. Otherwise sites like ebay, paypal stands with the buyer most of the time.

so you are worried what will happen to you due to the fact he mentioned about ic3? and not worried about your $400 being returned to you? He wins the dispute, got your $400 and you still have the product with you?
I would suggest that leave as it is coz the money is still with him (i presume) he would not go all the hassle waste his time for $400 and you would not waste any more $$$ to pay up a lawyer to defend you. That's too money.
Be this lesson learned for you so that you would not be in the same situation ever again.

Yeah I really don't care about $400 when someone is threatening me witg the authorities on false claims. Thanks for all the replies and help guys. Great forum

He has shipping proof simply with his tracking number and delivery confirmation which is what paypal told me. Smh
