Perhaps someone has encountered this issue and can competently suggest what to do in this case.
A friend of mine in Telegram was suddenly approached by a person with a request to sell his username for a good price.
I immediately thought: a scammer.
But here I read that sold accounts, for example. Domain names could also give something. So why not username? But the price seemed too good. And that made me very wary. However, in Fragment, as it turned out, the prices are even higher.
Can anyone suggest anything about how to deal with such a situation? How not to get hooked? And how do you make money from it?

People sold packed air and pet rocks in the past. So, this is not surprising to me. They're probably buying matching domain names to pull off scams or just fancy names.

They still sell air in jars, sand, rocks. By the way, a friend of mine once made a small business selling pieces of concrete wall, passing them off as Berlin walls and providing a small homemade certificate.
But how to check in this case, whether the buyer is a fraud or not? And does the Fragment itself give any guarantees that the deal will go through?

I didn't hear much about fragment and there is not much info on the internet. So, I wouldn't trust it. Your only option is some form of escrow or complete prepayment.

I was thinking full pre-payment. But there's no guarantee I won't screw him over. I need some kind of secure payment to offer him, but I can't find it.

Crypto is safe for you. Paypal is safe for him.

Tried to find a site like Aliexpress. I.e. there should be an intermediary who received money from the buyer and sent it to me after the buyer confirmed receipt of nickname. No one will send more than $9k to nothing.

There is a famous expression: first money, then food. But it does not always work. There are payment systems with the ability to temporarily freeze funds, or use Paypal

Unfortunately, I'm having trouble with Paypal. The transaction was abandoned, it was most likely a scammer. The username was rank and still included numbers, such a one would be unlikely to generate interest. But now I was wondering purely technically how a similar payment could have been made.

It's 100% Scam. I got a similar offer. I researched more about it and found it on Reddit that it's a scam. Many people got scanned this way. Don't fall for it.

Bro, thank you! We've already given up on that idea.
Now the fact of paying for such an option has become interesting. Where to find a reliable intermediary?

For telegram usernames, you should deal directly on fragment.

Escrow.com

Escrow.com
Bro, thank you so much! Commissions are great, but it's better to pay them and be sure of the deal. Googled in this direction and found a few more platforms for cryptocurrency.
  • Paxful Escrow
  • LocalBitcoins
  • Bitrated
  • Escrowmy.com

I'm not a big believer in just having 3,000 TON to buy username. That's why I was considering calculating with another currency. If they were really interested, there would be feedback. When I gave up on Fragment, they disappeared immediately.

Yes telegram usernames do sell a lot and for good amount of money. If you have a word username people contact you to sell them and then they mint it to sell to other. You can sell it on fragment safely its a official marketplace by telegram.

I even thought about starting a business based on this idea!
