So did anyone tried doing this? I don't think it would work, but maybe there are some people who will buy that site cheap and then use their SEO, link building techniques and meke it big?
 
Yes it does work there called start ups and they can be very lucrative if done correctly. You will see plenty being bought and sold at flippa.
 
Yeah but to make some decent cash with this you will go after volume plus backend profits like hosting. Taking a fee for transferring the site and such

Yes your 100% right the first few may sell well then nothing then some more sales and nothing. Or you may not sell the first few and so it goes on. Thats one of the most important things you need to know about start ups. You have to look at it terms of how successful you were after at least 20 sites but nobody teaches that because when you buy a flipping course they dont what you to know that some sites wont sell.
 
I agree with shadysays. It all comes down to trial & error.
Give it your best shot. You will soon see what people are happy to pay for & then you can focus 80% of your time in that area & use 20% to tryout new projects.
There is absolutely no doubt that you can & will make a living doing this. It is only a matter of how focused you are.
