Self Thought Web developer? please share your experience in order to Motivate me

Hello guys, I just started my coding journey 3 weeks ago.

Being someone who doesn't have a CS degree, I always feel down whenever I come across threads which empasizes on a CS degree.

As a self thought developer, how did you overcome such negative comments?

please I'm willing to learn. if possible, I'll like to see some portfolios here

what is your goal? if you would like to work for yourself like me.. then cs degree is not important

Hey there, a degree is totally useless to me, i'm self though and know far more than any school minion.
On the internet you learn ten times faster and you choose what to learn. Can't send any folio for privacy but trust me, keep learning and prove them wrong

I intend on getting a Job. i want to learn popular frameworks whuch are in demand, create my own portfolio, and hopefully get hired.

EDIT: Also, please could you guys share some resources you use to learn? like a Udemy course or PDF.

Hey, here is my little recent story.

About 12 days ago I've decided that I want to learn Python and become a good Python developer, which, of course will take time. Within 12 days I've learned the fundamentals(On a scale 1/100 I'd say I m on 85). You don't need a school, you don't need a degree.

Learn then take an online test to obtain your certification. I do think that as a web developer you shouldn't worry about how much time it takes but how good you're improving.

Think like this: If you are to learn HTML + CSS within 3 months, that's a great progress. If you are learning them within 1 year, that's also a great progress. Why? Because it's something you achieved, who cares it took longer just ignore the time(It passes anyway).

Now, my personal advice:
-Learn what you'd like to learn. Why focus on something if you don't like it? It will become really unpleasant!
-Be the one who doesn't give up at half progress(a lot of people do).
-When you don't feel like learning, don't. Take a break for God's sake..
-Push yourself whenever there's a great time for that. E.g: You and your girl got together again or for the first time, that'll generate into a good mood -> Turn it into learning!

There are thousands of words that I could write down to help you but unless you want to help yourself, I am just talkin shit.

Simply learn react and typescript, thats 85% of the job offer, don't even bother to learn classic and old ways, even start with react and go through html doc on mozilla if you don't understand something. Create a react app and try to make some pages right away

3 weeks is nothing.
CS degree doesn't matter in programming/coding.
It's really easy to study programming/coding nowadays because there tons of tutorials/forums/stackoverflow/etc.
Everything depends on yourself.

People around me always shit-talked CS degrees, a CS degree is overkill for web development. I started off with Traversy Media tutorials not knowing almost any programming syntax, watched them googling every little bit of syntax I couldn't understand until I found my own footing and could do without courses and just learn on my own with nothing but documentation and stackoverflow. Ever since it's just been taking on more and more complex projects and learning in the process.

You don't need a degree
