Hi Guys, I would like to ask whether the self hosted sites for tier 1 is worth the investment. Still I am using blogs.com, blogger and others as tier1.

What do you all think.

They are a great way to get tier 1 links. Of course you must remember that you will need to build up each site so that they will help pass on the link juice. If you just create a new site and don't promote it, the links are not really going to be that valuable. But every little bit helps.

Are they better than using blogger or tumbler etc in long run?

They can be much better, of course you need to remember that those other web 2.0 sites are already established. Which is why they are so popular when building links.

In the long run, as long as you are promoting and establishing these domains, they can end up being much more powerful, because they will be very targeted to your niche, and there are not going to be thousands of people building links from your domain... just you.

thanks Any suggestion for wordpress hosting a little reasonable .

Would like to add, you should not host more than 1 on the same server, it also works if you use anon domain registration.

I have done this, it works.

These domain do work. Any special benefit?

Yes, its not a 2.0 and you can put anything you like on it.

I reccomend hand coded html (see template monster) with quality content, perfect on site SEO and very very few OBL.

No worries, just want to add one thing, test whatever you do, maybe split test on 2 sites with diferent technique for each. This works for me but without proper case study it could be anomaly so be aware.

Good luck.

I agree with the above - well worth doing. But the domains should not be on the same hosting.
