**(The jist posted as bottom)**
I read a post recently that brought to the surface something I've feared for a long time. I have several interests but nothing I'm really passionate about (I'm 27 for reference). I've spent most of my time gaming and I've just never been interested in earning money through this niche because it would take a lot of fun out of it for me plus as I'm getting my life together I'm finding I'm barely gaming anyways.
I like writing in general but always find I run out of stuff to write about. I created a website on money making ideas a while ago but it just never sat right with me to write about making money online when I've barely made anything myself.
On a slightly brighter note I feel like I'm falling in love with creating android games/apps with an app builder called Appsgeyser. The problem comes in when I start to think about judgement from others because I'm using app builder templates vs coding apps from scratch. Also I worry a bit about if it's going to be worth it for the money in the long run.
The biggest worry is I fear I'm going to tarnish my image online making mildly spammy apps using appsgeyser even if I put a lot of work into them because every app has a popup ad that rotates between 0 seconds to exit & 5 seconds to exit & they pop up every 2 minutes of using the app.
You can control the popup ad timer but only if you pay $5 usd per month per app which is really defeating because it'd take forever for each app to earn more than $5 per month through ads especially since I split the ad revenue with the company 50/50.
I've made a few apps with them but they got removed for copyright (my fault) but I spent about 20 hours using their case opener template and the app received over 3600 downloads in around 3 or 6 months (can't remember) and a 2.5* rating out of 17 ratings.
It got taken down because I gave up when I only had like 80 downloads and ignored emails to update my apps security. I only noticed several months later that I ended up getting that many installs and then it took another several months for me to actually bother fixing it because I still doubted my success and didn't want to put in more than 5 minutes of work to contact appsgeyser support to do the security update for my app.
I should also mention about 5 of the 20 hours was spent learning about ASO and writing a really good long deception, app name, short description... ((I also have previously spent over 10 hours learning about SEO to help benefit my website. ))
(((It's probably worth mentioning too that I found a small quick success writing Amazon product descriptions for 1 client who was always very impressed by my work and left me amazing reviews on Fiverr. (I have a hard time going back to doing this because it's so hard for me to do copywriting for somebody else to make them $ and would pretty much rather earn nothing than grow someone else's business))))
To help regain my store ranking after my app being suspended for over 1 year I've since updated the included screenshots using phone mockup images, shortened the title to 30 characters as google play is making that a requirement soon so I figured I should be ready for the change and modified the keywords slightly in the description to better represent my shortened app title.
I did all this because I started to legitimately care and honestly felt I did an amazing fucking job considering I am working in such a limited environment.
The plan I guess you could say I came up with is the publish 30-50 apps using appsgeyser to really get a feel for app development through experience, seeing what works, implementing as many user suggestions as possible within my limited environment and offering great customer service.
After this I feel I would have grown enough self-confidence as well as commitment through how much skin in the game I'll have by having 30-50 published apps to move to a platform like game salad which if you haven't heard of is a limitless drag & drop app builder without the need to code. The input reason I'm not doing this first is because I've tried twice and was just west too overwhelmed from all the options and didn't even know what type of game to create.

The Jist: I guess I just feel broken or wrong that this is my path I know will only work for me towards game app development because I'm not coding something from scratch, going to school, or even learning to make apps from scratch from YouTube while still coding like a lot of anti-college people (I'm one of them). Or just starting out with game salad. I know myself very well so I know this is my only path to eventually achieve professional app development.
Any feedback/reassurance would mean the world to me.
Peace!
