Self-distributing a torrent

Need an advice.
Is this possible at all? I want to make a torrent from my file (on IDE drive) and self-download it to my other drive (SATA, which connected through IDE-to SATA convertor to motherboard on same PC).
Reason is when I copy-move a huge (2 GB) file through convertor from IDE drive to SATA it gives me md5 hash-errors. I think its due the bottleneck in connection-transportation of files through convertor.

I believe that can be solved if a file will be moved as a torrent file, as torrent program (I use utorrent) will rewrite and mend any errors in packet transportation. So I need to distribute it to myself.
Question: How can I do it without going online through public or private trackers. And will it work at all?

Use winrar, pack it into a .rar and split it into 20 parts. Problem solved. Hope that helps.

Thing is with those convertors to unpack that archive on SATA drive it will need to go through bottleneck back again (and when it goes back it does it even slower-worse). But I'll give it a try.
Yes, it will work if I will just keep it as archive for while, till I get myself newer motherboard. Anyway, thanks. Looks like I'll go for archiving it as winrar file. :)

You can use a flash drive. If you don't want to spend money or don't have access to it, then you can upload your files on an ftp server and download it to your other drive.
 
Just use a file uploading site such as mediafire etc. No login required. If you want a pass to keep files private, you can do that too.
 
You are having this error for two reasons (both could be true):

1) For pins are damaged somewhere
2) Your hard drive is failing

In 2) case I wouldn't even try to move files on SATA drive, since it would probably result in data loss in near future.

In any case try to rar file into multiple volumes and then compy them by using:

No, my motherboard and other 6 drives are all IDE.

I don't think its 'cause of pins, this happens only with files from particular resource.

Error recovery. In case of copy error, TeraCopy will try several times and in the worse case just skip the file, not terminating the entire transfer.

will it notify me in case of error or just skip silently?
 
You said the file was greater than 2GB. Well it must be quite larger if you can't put it on a 4GB flash drive. Anyway, why not just use winrar with a decent compression level to shrink the file, and then split it into smaller archives if need be to move it with a flash drive?

Anyway, you could always:

1. Create a torrent using any open trackers
2. Install a secondary bittorrent client on the SATA
3. Seed from the IDE
4. Download to the SATA

And yes, I have done this myself, but that was for different purposes.
